I'm sure you all know by now from even from my few posts that I am about as far to the left as Woody Guthrie or Paul Robeson.
But this lefty likes Donald Trump.
Oh don't get me wrong, I would never vote for him, but, I can't help but enjoy his style. He seems brutally honest to a fault. It doesn't seem to matter what he says, he keeps going up in the poles. It's because he is compelling, he's disarming, he tells a great stories. I'm told Teddy Roosevelt, and even Abraham Lincoln, were also, great storytellers.
And , since he's rich, he's not in anyones pocket.
Now, Bernie Sanders. I like im too. He's also not in anyones pocket, because, he not taking any money from lobbies. He's totally public funded and people powered. He says a lot of things us lefties like. Free higher education, public sector jobs, infrastructure, and tax the rich. The 3% of the folks that have more money than the rest of us combined and aren't letting it "trickle down" like Ronnie Reagan said it would.
Trump, he's a Republican. They want to privatize everything. Deregulate , make smaller Government, etc.
But, the man does speak off the cuff, and seems really honest in his opinions. He makes the rest of the GOP candidates look like cardboard figures.
So, two very different candidates and two, very likeable, honest. Yes, they seem to be the antithesis, of each other, and yet, something very similar , in their honesty and seemly true convictions to their platforms.
Forget about Hillary. She's old school. She's in a lot of pockets. Nothing comes out of her mouth that isn't vetted by a team of consultants and lawyers.
Yep. I'm sorry Hillary. You are "politics as usual". It's gonna be Bernie and Donald in 2016. Who will YOU vote for?
